Chapter 32. Gnawing Reality
Lisa wished she would not have to wake up the next morning and find out everything was not a dream, but reality.
She had moved to one of the guest rooms because she could not bear Hilda deliberately snuggling into their matrimonial bed and Sinclair not doing or saying anything about it. How could she share her matrimonial bed with another woman and the three of them would sleep like it was a normal thing to do? So she had moved, and let them have the room to themselves, since she does not have a say in her own house.
Since Hilda moved in, Lisa had been like a stranger in her own home. She began to command things and even the maids noticed who was in charge now and preferred to do Hilda’s biddings rather than hers.
She could say anything and her voice was loud and confident unlike Lisa who even before Hilda came, was very conscious of her words and actions so as not to get on Sinclair’s nerves.
