Chapter 34. Working in Place
Time was ticking, and that was one of the things Maxwell had a problem with. It was either too slow or too fast. He did not want to have to wait for a right time to do anything. But this was one of the moments he enjoyed the wait. Because he knew what was coming. He suffered in the patience of waiting. It was a virtue he never had.
Things were working perfectly in place. Alexander Sinclair and his family had been offered to him like a sacrifice offered to a deity. And they were at his mercy.
He suppressed a malicious laughter into a chuckle, at Sinclair’s foolish audacity. What was the man actually thinking? That he was a child he could manipulate to carry out his desires?
Maxwell scoffed inwardly. Perhaps, pride had really overshadowed his ability to think properly, or he was just simply delusional.
Sinclair thought he could just do and undo. It would be just but a matter of time before he realized what he has gotten himself into. It was funny how he thought
