Chapter 69. Home Alone with Sisters
The following morning, Selena sighed and blinked her eyes open. She had never before had a day been so dull in her life like yesterday, staying idle and doing nothing at home. Thank God, she avoided misusing d***s, alcohol, or mar***ana, at least.
She got out of bed and opened the cotton to let in some natural sunlight. Given that it was Sunday, her mother would be attending church. Yes, she hoped. She would be able to search her room and find answers without her mother around. She chose not to heed the advice of the therapist.
Selena finished all the tasks at hand and got ready for the day. She walked downstairs when it was time for breakfast. It was unusual that she did not see her mom. She focused her attention on Jade. “Did Mom not come home last night?” Selena was curious.
Jade shrugged and raised an eyebrow at Selena. “I haven’t seen her or heard her voice since.”
“She is preparing to go to church.” Hania said
