That Friday morning was calmer than expected.

“Uh, sweetie, you’ll be having Monday off, right?” My father asked.

“Yeah, it’s Founder’s Day,” I replied.

Couldn’t help but wonder why he asked.

“I see,” he said and continued reading the newspaper.

“Uhhhh… Aren’t you going to tell me why you asked?” I chuckled lightly.

“Ah pardon me, ma’am,” he said with a light smile now.

“You’re forgiven, raise your head and speak,” I said.

“Your mother and I were wondering if we should go on a family trip,” he replied.

“By ‘mother and I’ you mean it’s your idea, right?” I asked.

“Well,” he sighed. He didn’t say anything further but just continued to read the newspaper.
