Aria
My damn body’s shaking like I just ran a mile in heels, and I start heading downstairs. I don’t even know why. Maybe it’s nerves, maybe it’s because Mark just dumped a load of bullshit on me, or maybe I’m losing my mind again . All I do know is that I’m not about to let Mark get in my head. Not when it comes to Lucas. I mean, I’m curious as hell about everything that’s happening…but that dude and his mom? I trust them about as much as I trust gas station sushi. What if this whole thing is a damn trap, just like Lucas warned?
Soon as I hit the living room. “Aria,” Lily calls, waving me over. She’s sitting next to Mia, who, by the way, looks like she’s two seconds away from committing a felony. Her whole vibe screams someone’s about to die.
I take a deep breath and walk over to them, plopping down on Mia’s other side.
“Hey, guys,” I say, trying to keep it casual while eyeing Mia like she might explode.
Yeah, no response. Not even a side-eye. S
