“So you’re telling me the man just disappeared? Like, poof, gone?”
Mia’s eyes are still wide as hell, looking all sorts of shocked, even though this is like the tenth time she’s asked.
“For the last damn time, Mia, that’s what they said,” Lily mutters, rolling her eyes, but Mia still looks like her brain’s trying to catch up.
We’re all back at Lucas’s apartment now, the place finally feeling a little less tense, but my head’s still spinning like crazy. I’m curled up on the couch, pressed against Lucas, while Damon’s on the other end with Mia clinging to his side like her life depends on it.
