Chapter 37
Madelyn kept laughing as Henry rushed out of the house. She told him Maya wasn’t pregnant, but he refused to believe her. He drove to the hospital and requested to see the doctor in charge. He was told the doctor was still taking care of Maya, so he had to wait. He didn’t want to wait; he wanted the doctor to come out and tell him the baby was safe. He didn’t want to believe Madelyn’s word.
The doctor finally came out, and Henry rushed to him.
“How is she? Is she okay?” he asked calmly.
“She’s fine, and you can see her now,” the doctor said and wanted to leave.
“What about the baby?” Henry asked.
“Baby? Is she pregnant?” the doctor asked.
“From the tests we conducted, it doesn’t show any sign of pregnancy, so maybe you should ask her. If you’ll excuse me, sir,” the doctor said and walked away.
