Chapter 39
Henry paced to and fro; he couldn’t wait for his wife to wake up. He was so happy when the doctor brought the test result to him. He didn’t want to believe it at first, but when he saw the result, he was ecstatic. He couldn’t wait for Audrey to wake up and ask for her forgiveness. He knew it would be hard, but he would try his best to do everything she wanted.
At last, he was told she was awake. He rushed to the ward he was directed to and entered. She looked so weary and weak that Henry regretted his actions.
“Why are you here?” Audrey asked softly.
“I am sorry, wifey, I know I offended you,” Henry said, and Audrey scoffed.
“You have seen your wife, right? And you know I am not the culprit, so can you leave me alone?” Audrey said and turned to the other side of the bed.
The door opened, and Audrey’s parents entered; they rushed to their daughter.
“Leave, I don’t want to see you here,” Mrs. Logan said.
