Emma’s POV

“I’ve gotta go meet Kev.” I said, as I got up from the side of the car where I’d been leaning.

“Really?” Chase looked stupefied. “I thought we were having a moment here.”

“We were. I’ve just gotta see Kev.” I replied in a really ‘obvious’ tone.

“You don’t have to, if you don’t want to.” Chase was the only person I knew who could sound so pleading and commanding at the same time.

“I want to.” I replied to him.

“Really?” He looked shocked.

“Yeah, really.” I confirmed.

Chase turned his back on me. I wondered what was going through his head.

He punched the car twice, before finally walking out, leaving me all there by myself.

“This is bad.” I whispered to myself as I headed into the house in search of Kevin.
