When I see Lexcis approaching, I hurriedly wipe away my tears and smile.

"Darling?" he asks from afar, having already spotted my look. He quickened his pace and approached me even faster. "What happened?"

I glanced at him, my eyes glistening with unshed tears, "I am alright; it was just a bit overwhelming."

He pulls me into an embrace, and I immediately feel better. His strong arms and fragrance make me feel protected. It's selfish and perhaps nasty, but I'm relieved Lexcis is unharmed. Mera is far stronger than I ever could be.

I draw back, reaching forward to kiss his lips. He grins, placing his palm on my cheek and pouring all of his love into this brief kiss. I put my head on his arm and looked up at him, "Are we going to bed now?"
