Chapter 35. King vs. Queen

Adonis’s POV

I looked at the so-called queen; she didn’t look that strong. Heck, compared to her, this Kali girl was miles ahead. I stepped away from Kali and moved around the village, not taking my eyes off the Queen.

Despite her frail appearance, I could smell something was off, but what?

“You walk into my village unannounced, assault my sisters, and now you don’t even have the decency to introduce yourself.”

“I’m pretty sure you know who I am, but let’s just pretend you don’t. I am Adonis, the Alpha of the Blood Moon pack, the slayer of a hundred bulls. I’ve come with one mission and one mission alone. I’m looking for a girl named Charlotte. She was my mate. I made a stupid mistake, and she rejected me. I want to make amends with her and bring her back to my village.”

I told her the truth. Maybe if I cooperated a little, she’d listen too, or I’d just go back to using my fists again.

“She has rejected you. Get over it, Alpha. Don’t you ha
