Kiana’s POV

“I foolishly latched onto Lucius’s tail before he could escape.”

“What’s wrong with you?” he asked, confused. I get it; if I had just murdered a bunch of people in front of someone, and that person was clinging to me, I’d also think they were crazy.

But I wasn’t crazy. The lunar goddess had placed me in this situation for a reason. I wasn’t about to let Lucius slip from my fingertips. This was my chance to get into the Krent pack!

“Lucius, I want to join the Krent pack!” I shouted.

“What, seriously? As weak as you are? You’re going to die even before you reach the town,” Lucius said. I couldn’t tell if he was joking or being serious.

“Please, oh strong Delta! Take me and my friend there! We wish to get stronger!” I continued.

“You don’t get to command me. I could kill you right where you stand! I have absolutely no obligation to take you with me,” he said.
