Chapter 73. Counter Measure
Kiana’s POV
The Krent pack pillars weren’t as crazy as I expected. They were actually listening to me instead of ignoring me like Adonis did. This place wasn’t barbaric at all; it was the land of the free.
“Can you convince us that you’re more valuable than Charlotte?” Winona spoke up for the first time. Her voice sounded very soft for a teenage girl, but that could be part of her charm.
“I’ve heard rumors of her flames being able to rival mine. If that’s the case, she would make an excellent replacement for me when I step down,” said Flamel as he stroked his white beard.
“No, she would never join you anyway. She’s too much of a goody-goody. She’s even the one who gave shelter to that human,” I explained.
“Yes, talk more about this human boy… Hunter, was it?” Vanilla asked.
“Yes, he’s from one of the villages you raided, the mountain one, I think.” As I said this, all of them fell silent.
“No… That can’t be right,” said Flamel.
