Chapter 74. Beach Day
Charlotte’s POV
About three days have passed since we beat Rafael and saved Hunter, yet… the squirrels haven’t sent us back to our side of the forest, so we’re still stuck being neighbors with the same people we just invaded and almost killed their alpha.
We had a party a few days ago… But still, the animosity was there, especially from Hunter. He didn’t like a single werewolf from the Aztec pack…
Well, Hunter didn’t like werewolves in general; he just tolerated us… But then he called me his friend. This was progress, and it made me smile every time I remembered it.
“Oh, look who’s smiling!” my inner wolf said smugly.
“I’m not smiling; I’m just resting my face!” I said. The two of us were taking a stroll around the forest.
“Hunter’s been nice to us lately, even to me. He lets me rub my fur against his legs now; before, he would push me away and say, ‘beast!’” Leah tried to imitate Hunter’s voice, but it came off as silly.
