Charlotte’s POV

The day finally came when the squirrels’ magic returned, and we were about to say goodbye to our forced neighbors.

Ivy was already crying because Iris was leaving, while the rest of them had sad expressions, except Rose; she greeted Iris’s departure with a smile.

Rafael came to give his own piece before we left.

“Remember, dear Iris, even though you rejected me, you’ll always have a place here!” he said, outstretching his arms. I believe his love for her was reignited after his defeat at our hands.

“Geez, you guys, I’ll come visit when I have time, for Ivy’s sake,” said Iris.

“One more thing, human,” Rafael pointed at Hunter. “You better make sure this alliance goes through. I can’t raise the island up for another year, thanks to you, so I’m stuck helping you through the war. Don’t make me regret it.”

Hunter scoffed at him, “Says the one that almost killed me. I’m going through with the alliance for myself, not you and
