Chapter 16. Jealousy

Evelyn’s POV

I couldn’t concentrate. No matter how hard I tried to stay present, my mind kept slipping back to him.

Nathan. And her.

I didn’t care who was watching. Let them stare. Let them judge. My eyes were just glued to Nathan.

He was just like a magnet pulling me closely to himself no matter how I tried to look away.

He sat there, laughing softly, leaning in to whisper in Isabella’s ear. Whispering in her ear—the way he used to whisper to me.

My chest even ached the most. He knew what he was doing. He had to know.

“Have you seen Victor?” Sophia’s voice came through my troubled thoughts.

“How should I know?” I snapped.

“What do you mean? You’re meant to know. He’s your fiancé.”

I sighed, waving a hand toward Nathan, “Just look… look over there.”

Sophia followed my gaze. “And?”

“He’s been sitting there with her for an hour now,” I muttered. “Laughing, whispering. He hasn’t even looked my way once.”
