Chapter 20. Feel Nothing

Nathan’s POV

No matter how far I tried to run from Evelyn, she always found me. Every single time. It was maddening how, despite everything, I couldn’t stay away from her.

She was my weakness. My downfall. And yet, here she was again.

I hadn’t come back for her. I was on a damn mission, one that needed a clear head and no emotional ties.

There were too many unanswered questions from seven years ago, and I wasn’t leaving until I uncovered the truth about what happened in the pack.

But how the hell was I supposed to do that with Evelyn always showing up when I least expected her?

Especially when I wanted to be away from her.

And what was worse? She was engaged. I’d seen her at the reception, standing next to Victor, smiling at him like he hung the stars.

I’d seen them in the car together, too. She was playing her part perfectly.

So why the hell was she here now, looking at me like I was the only thing she wanted?
