Chapter 44
Sienna’s POV
Maid’s Quaters.
The room was very dark, it was only having a little light through the moonlight leaking through the cracked window. I lay on the thin mattress, eyes open, staring blankly at the ceiling. Sleep didn’t want to come. Or maybe I didn’t want it to. Either way, I was just there feeling trapped between a life that haunted me and a future that terrified me.
My new “room,” if it could even be called that, was more like a cramped storage closet that had been cleared out and stuffed with three flimsy and smelly beds. I ran here after what happened with Kieran thinking I would escape from those piercing grey eyes that won’t make me have peace. I didn’t want to think about that—not about his lips on mine, or the way my heart had betrayed me by skipping, or how I’d shoved him and ran like my life depended on it.
