Chapter 52. Deep Talk
Willow sat on the back porch, enjoying the breeze and occasionally closing her eyes and reminiscing about the years that had passed. That time felt so heavy, but Willow managed to get through it. The door to the back porch slid open to reveal Max standing on the threshold, a glass of milk in his hand.
“Am I disturbing you?” Max asked.
Willow shook her head. Then Max sat beside her and offered her the glass of milk.
“For me?” Willow asked.
“Well, Mom…” Max suddenly coughed awkwardly, “…Mom gave this to me and said it helped me relax before bed. Do you like milk before bed, too?”
Willow chuckled. “Yes, warm milk. Of course.”
Carefully, Willow sipped from the glass Max offered. Max felt comfortable at Willow’s side, experiencing the childhood of the woman he loved. Little did Max know that Willow had Lycan blood as well.
