Chapter 60. Back to Cypresswood

“Willow…”

A soft call and a gentle touch on her cheek woke Willow from her sleep. Still dazed, Willow wanted to stay curled up in Kyler’s embrace longer.

But this time, she realized that they were now on the run.

“Oh God,” Willow murmured.

Seeing Kyler still holding her, Willow felt embarrassed. She quickly sat up and reached for her clothes scattered nearby.

Meanwhile, Kyler also stood up after Willow had freed herself. He immediately pulled on the pants that were lying next to his feet.

“Shall we go now?” Willow asked, not wanting to look at the naked Kyler.

Ironically, they had slept together earlier without a single thread clinging to their skin.

Kyler nodded. “Sorry to wake you. But I sense something troubling.”

“It’s okay.”

Willow dressed quickly. Then she touched her increasingly swollen cheek, where the pain was becoming more apparent. Not wanting to worry Kyler again, Willow had to hold on and not appear weak.
