I walked through the corridors with Lion, who didn’t agree to let me go into the dungeons alone. I wore a thick reddish coat that protected me from the cold, and an icy wind blew everywhere. I was afraid of getting sick if I continued to walk around the castle so much; the doctor had advised me not to exert myself too much as the pregnancy was much more advanced.
I couldn’t help but go to him to find out why he had acted the way he did and look him in the eye before I knew he’d die on the gallows. This wasn’t a nice fate for someone so young and so ambitious. Chris would have died, too, if they hadn’t realized what he was up to and if Ian hadn’t given them the address.
