Chapter 154. The Healer

The puncture of the syringe burned me, though not as much as the wound into which this strange concoction had been introduced. The doctor had told me that it was leaves of an aromatic plant mixed with other, stronger plants, and that all these smells mixed and caused me pain, with an unbearable stinging. But I preferred not to tell anyone; I was tired of people worrying so much about me, I had only brought a cascade of problems.
“You shouldn’t worry so much,” Lion said, who was on a break; he had been following me all the time since the incident, he was worried that they’d try to kill me again.
“Yes, you don’t mind,” I replied, smiling; he always acted like my personal protector and I found that funny.
“Seriously, it’s not your fault, none of it. What happened with Jason and what happened with Chris…” he started to say.
