Chapter 176. The Descent into the Void

LARRY

My team was scared to death at the sight of the place we had to enter blindly. I tied one of the ropes to the sturdiest pillar after checking that the things would not collapse as soon as I touched them because they were so old.

“Is there no other way, sir?” one of my companions asked me.

They were there on behalf of Jacob and feared the king’s reprisals if they defected in the face of their fear of the mission.

“No, of course they did not.” I smiled. “If you go, I’ll kill you.” I had to laugh.

I let go of the rope inside the well, and after a while, you could hear it fall to the ground. It had a perfect measurement; those drones had calculated everything ice cold to get inside and look for what was down there.

I would go down first; I was not a coward like everyone else.

“If I went back up and none of you came down, I would kill you one by one for the chickens.” I concentrated on them so they would not have the slightest doubt.
