Chapter 279. Bar Crossing

The people who frequented the bar started to come out and then return accompanied by others. They were confident, closing the doors and entering with large boxes. I knew they must be storing weapons inside. I was barely getting used to the things I had seen.
“Is it true that you have seen Tachje?” a voice asked behind me.
Turning around, I saw a young woman with ash blonde hair, a cut on her right eye, a line that reached her ear. Her mouth was thin, also chapped by the dry air and cold. Her eyes were dark, and she wore a loose shirt, belted at the waist with a small dagger hanging from it.
I didn’t think I had ever seen her there before. I nodded to her question, she wanted to know if the rumors were true. I had seen him, of course, even talked to him, but it wasn’t what they expected. It wasn’t that he was the supreme deity that the fanatics preached.
