Chapter 368. Test Dummy
CARMEN
We walked down the hallway towards one of the upstairs rooms. It was a half-empty hall, with almost no furniture. An ideal place to dance, I thought, but he was not Karl.
It looked like a deserted ballroom. I wanted to smile when I remembered the dance we had, that time, before the whole storm broke.
“If the idiot didn’t die. Why were you crying?” he asked, with disdain, as he dragged a chair to the center of the room.
“You don’t care, Larry.” I glared at the interrogator; I had had enough of all the contempt I had suffered.
I didn’t need him to make fun of me.
“You’re crying because you fell in love with him. You’re stupider than I thought,” he said, smiling maliciously.
I slapped him. I didn’t care if he could tear me apart with his stupid magic. I wasn’t in the mood for him to mock my feelings.
“Stop talking…” I said, as I burst into tears.
