He seemed to understand a little bit of what I was referring to. Or maybe he was just trying too hard. I could see the anxiety in his eyes, his eyes bright with anticipation.

“Are you listening to me?” I asked, annoyed.

I held back a smile because I was about to burst out laughing. I didn’t want to be mean, but no one there had faith in him. It was funny that he thought that. I stifled a laugh and looked away.
