The pain from the wound in my neck was a mixture of unbearable burning and a poison that seeped into my skin.

Ian tried to help me to my feet. With great difficulty, I adjusted myself so we could move from there. The stench of death was close.

“Thanks… If you hadn’t arrived in time… What is this damn place?” I asked, even though I knew he couldn’t answer me.

Ian helped me to my feet to look for the exit. We walked nonstop for a while until we realized we were just walking in circles. We had no direction to follow. A labyrinth almost in the gloom. Sporadic lights illuminated a path with no beginning or end.

I was weak, dying. I regretted more and more having entered this damn room. It was a mistake. I knew it now. It was a mistake to come here and thank goodness I didn’t bring Lucero too. If I hadn’t pushed her… Who knows if she would still be alive. Here we were at the mercy of darkness and tricks.
