“So, you do care about me. If I’m your friend,” I said, laughing, as he hugged me.
“I don’t have friends.” He pulled away with annoyance, pushing me aside.
I smiled; I had discovered him. It was funny to see how he always pretended to be cold. I was already realizing his nature. Of course, he was a monster, no one could deny that. But he had bonds that he formed and wanted to protect those who mattered to him. That’s why he was training, not to get stronger, but so that what happened to Jacob wouldn’t happen again.
“Whatever you say,” I said, in a sarcastic tone.
I bent down to look at my sprained ankles. I rubbed my small wounds to try to ease the pain.
“Don’t be dramatic. Nothing happened to you,” he reproached, he had also bent down to see my wounds.
