“Thank heaven!” Jason yelled, taking the book from Lion’s hands, which made him quite angry. “I hadn’t seen it… I would have remembered; it smells like death.” He handed it to me. “Look, Dove, Mirna’s name is written here.”
This was too much for Lion, who pushed him back severely.
“You must call her Majesty; she’s the queen. And watch your language,” he ordered in a commanding voice.
“Let’s calm down,” I interrupted, trying to prevent a conflict. I knew it was too much to have both of them there, but I couldn’t count on many more people to help me. “There’s no problem; they don’t need to refer to me that way. We need to look for something in this diary that will help us learn a little more about those people.”
Both of them nodded, but Jason was confused. He didn’t know why Lion was hostile. I wasn’t going to tell him; it was their business.
