Chapter 78. Escape

I dropped to my knees as Liam and Amy began pledging eternal love in such a tense moment. I didn’t even want to look at them because of the nerves they were giving me.
The fake soldiers were running around, armed to the teeth in a way I had never seen before, not even in the castle. They had a large quantity of all kinds of weapons. I hadn’t realized how well-guarded the house was, but from the smiles on the faces of those present, it was clear that it was impossible for anyone to enter without permission.
I started to wonder if I would ever leave or if I would die there. It didn’t feel good that my last sight in the world would be a sad, dirty cage. My future wasn’t looking bright, and I began to lose hope. This made my desperation grow, but I stopped myself. I couldn’t let myself lose control or yell at Amy because that would push away my only option to try and manipulate her.
When Liam finally left, I was able to be alone with her again.
