Chapter 77. Awake
DOVE
The sleeping pill canceled its effect after almost three hours. I woke up in my room, covered with three blankets and with my feet freezing. I always have to sleep with socks on, or my feet would freeze horribly. I smiled when I was able to move my legs and arms; I had feared not being able to do so due to some side effect.
“You’re awake now,” Carmen said, sitting next to the bed in one of my small chairs.
I nodded, feeling confused as memories flooded my mind without giving me time to rest or process what had happened. Carmen got up from her seat.
“I’ll go call the doctor; he ordered me to let him know as soon as you opened your eyes,” she said, disappearing through the door and leaving me alone.
