Chapter 26. The Fuss
[The woods]
For the first time in Detective White’s career, he missed. At first, he got a clear target on the man but on pulling the trigger, the man was fast enough to dodge the bullet. He moved faster than Detective White’s eyes could see.
Unknowingly to Detective White, the man was standing behind him. He was able to realize that when he saw the man’s shadow. He flicked around to shoot at the man, but he was slap slammed into the tree.
Detective White felt the impact of the slap that slammed him into the tree. Nevertheless, he didn’t stay down. He slowly drags himself to his feet. Getting a clear marking on the man, he fired another shot at him. “Bang!”
He went for his forehead and this time he didn’t miss. He expected to see the man fall dead but his expectations were cut off seeing the same bullet that pierced its way into the man’s forehead coming out from the man’s forehead as the bullet injury heals completely.
“I’m doomed!” he crie
