Chapter 39. What’s in the Building?

Detective White was dumb folded that he couldn’t help. He reluctantly drove off without bothering to send Jane away. He didn’t want to miss the dispatch call. The last dispatched call was described as a ‘wild beast in human form maiming innocent citizens.’ He didn’t want to miss out. At least if what the dispatch call said is true, he will not have difficulties in proving to his department that werewolves are in existence.

They finally came to a stop at Bailey Avenue. Detective White pulled over beside the police barricade. He turns off his ignition. With a serious look on his face, he said to Jane: “You stay in the car!”

“I’m coming too!”

“No, you are not! Don’t you get it, do you? This is police official business!” Detective White walks out of the car and slams shut the door leaving Jane inside the car.

He makes his way to the lead detective who first arrives at the scene. He flashed his badge to identify himself. “Detective White,” he said.
