Unable to contain his widening grin, Diego reached out and took her hands in his. "Yes, I really do. I was just afraid of ruining our friendship if I said anything."

Sofia laughed, looking relieved and elated all at once. "Diego, you have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that!"

They both laughed giddily, reveling in the newfound understanding between them.

"So..." He ventured after a moment. "Does this mean you might want to, I dunno, go out sometime? On a date?"

Sofia's smile was radiant. "I would love that."

Lost in the joy of the moment, Diego leaned in and was about to kiss Sofia when she stopped him halfway.

"What are you trying to do?" Sofia asked him.

"I was trying to kiss you," he responded.

"And, why would you do such a thing?" Sofia sounded slightly confused.

"Because you told me that you were interested in me."
