Chapter 65

Elena rubbed the head of Mateo gently as he rested his back on the bed. Slowly, she washed away his sweat from his body and replaced it with cold soothing water.

"You have done a great job to gain Sofia's trust," she informed Mateo. "I have to inform you that at the beginning, I doubted if you were going to be able to do this job because of how soft you could get when you come in contact with a friend who has shown you nothing but kindness."

Elena paused what she was doing and looked into the eyes of Mateo. "I have to be honest with you, you have done more than surprise to me, you have completely changed my mindset about the potentials of people."

Mateo sighed and looked at Elena. "I do trust Sofia because it is a genuine trust. I have read the file that was given to me by the Master and I am yet to find a genuine reason why you want to go after a young woman who has done nothing other than give herself for the safety and sec
