Chapter 67
"So, Luke," said Diego once the laughter had subsided. "Any new embarrassing stories to regale us with? I feel like we're overdue for a fresh tale of your charming ineptitude."
"As a matter of fact..." Luke began, a mischievous glint in his eye.
He then proceeded to recount a story from just the other day, involving a slippery patch of ice, a precariously placed flower pot, and a very startled elderly woman. By the time he reached the climactic moment – in which he ended up flat on his back, covered in potting soil – Diego and Lucas were doubled over in hysterics.
"You have to admit, I do have a flair for the dramatic," Luke said with a self-effacing grin once he had finished his tale.
"That's one way to put it," Diego wheezed, wiping tears of laughter from his eyes.
As the laughter finally began to subside, a thoughtful expression crossed Lucas's face.
