Chapter 9

Marco wasn't sure if it was the sound of his heart beating he was hearing or if it was the sound of a rod hitting on the wooden structure.

He was on the ground now with his body badly beaten and with some of his bones broken. Sera had betrayed him. The Master had betrayed him and they had both left him alone to die like a lonely man.

Marco struggled to move by crawling to the end of the room where the exit door stood. He knew if he could manage to leave the building then there was a strong possibility that he would find someone who was going to help him and take him to the hospital.

Just as Marco had expected and had done, he found himself lying in a hospital bed an hour later with two nurses by his side trying to figure out how he had ended up like this.

"What happened to you, sir?" One of the nurses asked him as she moved closer to him.

Marco wanted to answer, but there was no zeal left in him to speak. He had already spoken too much
