Chapter 19. Hello, Sister

Eva had been studying creatures; she even tried to talk with them when Edward was sleeping. To her surprise, some of them managed to speak simple words through the mental link.

This morning, Eva was in a rather cheerful mood. She had woken up lying across Edward’s chest. He had been sound asleep when she woke up. Eva lay there for a few more minutes, basking in the rightfulness of the act. She didn’t realize Edward had also woken up.

“I can hear your tummy grumble. Up you go, let’s get you some food.”

“Hmmm… I have been for hours,” she said, smiling.

“I know. You are becoming lazy,” he said, kissing her hands.

“Eva, I have to leave for a few hours. You’ll be fine with Joanna, right? Don’t go out of the gate. Just stay inside,” Edward said, placing a quick kiss on her forehead.
