Chapter 21

Rehearsals go on as usual after school and quite frankly, Allison is really good at acting although she is slow to learn her lines. She gives me the stink eye whenever our eyes meet and it reminds me what an awful person she is. Sandra bursts into the theater with a tray of muffins and a cheery smile on her face.

"Sandra, what are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here," I say to her.

"I got Mrs. Bryan some muffins to appreciate her for her good work mentoring these young actors. I also got you one, Sam, don't worry, and there's muffins for everyone as well!"

"Muffins!" One of the actors cheers but Mrs. Bryan shushes him.

"That's sweet of you Sandra, but you know non-actors are not allowed in here during rehearsals. You could have brought these muffins earlier," Mrs. Bryan tells her.

"I'm sorry, it totally skipped my mind. But they're really good, have a taste." Sandra offers her a muffin and she reluctantly takes a bite, chewing slowly.

"
