"We're having coffee and snacks."

"Oh?"

"I'm only going out with him because Carl said I could."

"Carl's cool with this?"

"Yes, and, I'm going to let Adrian know I'm in a relationship so he doesn't keep making advances at me."

"You better do that."

She is about to say something else when the bell rings and we look at each other. "Time for the next class," our tired eyes say to each other and we leave for class, meeting Olive and Sandra on their way to class as well.

"Where were you two?" Olive asks us.

"I was on a call," I answer.

"I was eavesdropping on the call," Miranda says.

"Your specialty," Olive deadpans.

"Don't make it sound like I live for sneaking up on people," Miranda says and rolls her eyes.

"I should sneak up on you sometime so you know what it feels like to have your heart leap out of your chest," Sandra says and Olive and I concur with her.
