I followed Mason up the stairs. He knew I was walking behind him, but he stayed silent, so I did the same. We got to the top of the stairs and walked past the first bedroom door. I could hear Evan and Selene giggling and having fun, and I couldn't help but feel a little jealous. Not because I wanted Evan, but because that was how my night was supposed to go with Mason. But now there is no chance of that. I knew I’d hurt him, and the least I could do was explain and tell him the truth. I continued to follow behind him as he walked all the way down the landing and then entered the end room.
