Chapter 23

Kali and I decided we would share a room from now on. Make it seem to Azael and Selene that we were now a couple. We had moved what little possessions she did have over to my room and made sure as many people as possible could see us transferring her stuff from hers to mine. She was only a few rooms down from me, but we took our time moving everything to have witnesses or spies who could report back to Azael. We needed to make it all look as authentic as possible. So far, we were doing good, but we had just had a messenger from Azael inviting us to dinner tonight. I worried I would think too much about our plans and ruin everything before we started.

“How the hell am I going to keep my thoughts in check tonight? What if I slip up and expose all of our plans?”

Kali was walking out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her and a smaller one in her hands. I couldn’t help but watch her from the bed where I was sitting across the other side of the room
