I sat there waiting for Tristan to explain himself. My insides were shaking like a leaf, and I hoped to God that he had a valid reason for hunting me like an animal and for killing my dad. I know I had done some awful things, specifically to him, but that was inexcusable. I doubted anything he said would allow me to forgive him. Not to mention, Tyler and Cassie were a part of it all, too. I felt let down by them all. I know Tristan ended up in a coma, and Cassie’s sister died because vampires were stalking me, but I wasn’t directly responsible for all that. Even though I felt it was my fault at the time, over the years, I have had more than enough time to realize that it wasn’t my fault.
