I wasn't the weak girl they remembered. I was a strong woman who knew exactly how to protect herself, and I just needed to learn how to protect my people more. Everything I was doing was for them. My pack stayed in my mind all the time, and they occupied my every thought. I needed an army, and if this was the way I had to fight for it, then so be it. Barron stood up and extended his huge white wings. I followed suit and let my own gray pearlescent wings fan out. There were whispers again and gasps as my wings sparkled in the sunshine. Some were saying they were beautiful, while others were calling me a monstrosity.
“You don't want to do this, Barron,” Evan shouted out as Barron began to charge towards me.
