Chapter 29
Freya Rose
“Ahhhh-Oooooooooo.”
I heard a high pitch howl, and I quickly ran after her, and then gasped when I saw that she'd got her paw stuck in a bear trap. She saw me and started pulling at her leg, and howling out in pain. It was horrendous to watch; my hunting instinct had thankfully been overtaken by my humanity and compassion. I edged closer to her with my hands held out in front of me, trying to let her know that I meant her no harm. Her eyes grew wider in fear the closer I got to her. I thought it best that I calm myself down, so, I began my breathing exercises and eventually my wings faded, and my eyes returned to normal. She cowered in front of me watching my every move. I made sure I went really slowly, and then crouched down in front of her.
