Chapter 60. Like a Thorn
Amelia’s POV
I waited for hours to get a text from my brother about the recording I sent to him, but I got nothing. As Nolan drove me down to my family’s mansion to see my mom, all I could do was refresh my messages over and over again, but there was still nothing from him. I was worried sick and almost about to lose my mind.
Has she gotten to him, too? Was he fine? Was he in trouble? Did he need my help? That was all that was on my mind, and for hours, I couldn’t even concentrate on anything else other than that. It got so bad that I had no choice but to take the step myself.
I was going to call him and ask if he had seen it.
“Fuck it, I would just call him.” I mumbled to myself as I dialed his number but to my surprise, he answered on the first ring with a tone that sounded like I was disturbing him.
But then, when the voice came from the other end of the call. I realized it wasn’t my brother speaking but Sophie herself.
