I had no idea how long I waited out there, but I know it felt like forever, and by the time Richard arrived with mom and dad, it was almost dawn.

“You look terrible. You should take a bath and get some rest. I am sure the doctors would do their best to save him.” Mom said to me as she pulled me into her arms and planted a kiss on my head.

“He is in there because of me, mom. I am never going to leave his side, no matter what.” I stated firmly, and she sighed heavily.
