Vaela and Sylin charged across the shattered battlefield, seated high upon Vaela’s enormous white goat. Its thick, curling horns gleamed in the fading light, and its powerful hooves struck sparks against the broken stones below. Known for its remarkable speed and uncanny talent for reconnaissance, the creature was a living battering ram in the wrong hands—or the right ones, in this case. Sylin had insisted they exploit every advantage the goat offered, and they had so far done nothing but press their advantage ruthlessly.
Together, the two women swept aside ruined walls and collapsed rooftops as though they were nothing more than weeds. Each time a low-level werewolf stumbled into their path, the goat’s fierce headbutt sent it flying, limping or twitching in defeat, while Vaela loosed precise arrows that pinned limbs or shattered jaws.
