Leon’s POV
I put distance between myself and the three surviving Alphas and scanned the clearing. Ronir was slumped against a tree, blood trickling from a wound in his arm. Astrid was nowhere in sight, but I trusted she’d be all right. I’d already finished off the three lesser werewolves; now only these three Alpha contenders stood between me and victory.
I squared my shoulders and spoke evenly, forcing calm into my voice. “You know what? I could make a place for you in my pack. Submit, and I won’t have to kill you all.” I saw potential in each of them—it would be a shame to waste it. Besides, persuading three rival Alphas to yield would elevate my standing in the hierarchy.
A girl with a severe bob haircut curled her lip in derision. “Heh, don’t make me laugh.”
