Chapter 3

I’d been running for hours and there were a few times that I thought my dad would catch me, but luckily for me, his strength and durability had dwindled enough for me to outpace him, even with my broken leg. I knew it wouldn’t take too long for it to heal while I was shifted, but it meant I needed to stay in wolf form for at least a couple of weeks for it to heal fully. As a human I would need my leg plastered again and get better in hospital. That wasn’t an option. I knew I wasn’t far from the cabin, but I was exhausted and had slowed to a pathetic hobble. I had a few minutes before I reached the cabin and I could smell her scent in the air. It was delicious and I just wanted mark her and make her mine, but without being an Alpha, the mark would take, I wasn’t strong enough to turn her.
